I’ve Fallen For You is Star Cinema’s latest youth-oriented movie which stars Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. The movie marks the teen stars’ first anniversary in showbiz and the directorial debut of Lino Cayetano for the big screen.Kim and Gerald came from the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition where they successfully emerged as the big winner and third placer, respectively. They are considered one of the country’s hottest loveteams Friday. The young pair is called Kimerald by their adoring fans. Kim and Gerald have appeared in the film First Day High (also under Star Cinema) and TV shows like Aalog-Alog, Sana Maulit Muli and Gokada Go!
I’ve Fallen For You is about two teenagers’ budding romance and how it affects their families and important decisions in life. They must face the greatest challenge of their young love after discovering their own families’ past. The scenic highlands of Tagaytay and Antipolo make a picture perfect setting for the love story. The film also stars Albert Martinez, Chin-Chin Gutierrez and Lotlot de Leon.
Kim, Gerald, direk Lino and Star Cinema are satisfied on how they were able to show both the romantic elements and family values in I’ve Fallen For You. The two young stars are excited about the film. “We’re very proud of what we did in I’ve Fallen For You. Direk Lino is such a good director kasi nailabas niya po ang emotions na hindi ko akalaing kaya ko palang
“Parents will definitely enjoy this movie not just because of the viewing experience but also because their kids will learn valuable lessons from the story. We learned a lot from our characters and we thank Star Cinema for giving us a beautiful material,” Gerald says.
Everybody is talking about how passionate and serious direk Lino has worked on his film debut. Everybody has only good words about the young director. “We are very happy that direk Lino came on board for this project. He is very meticulous, hardworking, and it showed in this film,” says producer Marizel Samson-Martinez.
Screenwriter Mel Mendoza-del Rosario adds, “This is definitely a dream come true for Lino. He made his first narrative/drama with Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) and for me it’s like seeing him graduate to another level. I am not just proud of the hard work, passion and dedication he has devoted to his first film but I am grateful to God because this is an answered prayer for us.”
The movie is very close to direk Lino’s heart since he believes in the importance of family values. “Sana noon pa ako gumawa ng pelikula para napanood ng Daddy ko,” says the promising director. Direk Lino was the liver donor of his ailing father, former Sen. Renato Cayetano, who died of cancer in 2003.
Direk Lino studied Film & Audiovisual Communication in UP Diliman and attended New York University for a post degree in film. He has directed ABS-CBN’s teleseryes Calla Lily and Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. With his political lineage, it is inevitable that direk Lino is often asked why he chose a different field unlike his older siblings who are politicians. He always says that he loves what he does in the artistic media.
